Ms. Blume’s experience in commercial and civil litigation includes breach of contract actions, collections and bankruptcy. In addition, a large portion of Ms. Blume’s litigation experience involves real estate issues including foreclosure, summary process, tax appeals, condemnation appeals, contract disputes and collection litigation. Ms. Blume is experienced in pre-trial motion practice in state court and has tried many commercial cases to judgment.



Over the past five years, Ms. Blume worked in the public sector as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of New Haven. The majority of her work involved the representation of the tax collector and tax assessor.



Ms. Blume has experience in appellate practice. She has written numerous appellate briefs and argued before the Connecticut Supreme Court on behalf of the City of New Haven and prevailed in a landmark decision permitting municipalities to include its collection costs incurred in hiring a collection agency to collect a delinquent tax, as part of the tax debt.



Ms. Blume also has extensive experience in commercial and residential real estate. She has represented clients in a wide variety of real estate transactions including sales, refinances, purchases and leases.



Ms. Blume is admitted to practice in Connecticut in both state and federal courts. She received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island in 1985 and her J.D. from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 1988.
