Georgia Ghost Society

Undoubtedly, at one time or another everyone has heard a ghost story or two. Even though one-third of Americans believe in ghosts, there are still those who don't believe in such dark and unearthly encounters. But what about those who have actually experienced such strange, unexplained phenomena?

A haunting can manifest in a multitude of ways that can either amaze or assault the human senses in ways never imagined. Many have described unusual sensations of being watched, sounds of scratching behind a wall or being touched by unseen hands. Phantom footsteps, disembodied whispers and voices that sing or perhaps even call you by name. Some have witnessed visible manifestations that included moving lights, shadows and spectral apparitions that can appear and disappear in the blink of an eye, the sweet smell of flowers or perfume to foul, sickening odors that begin and end with no explanation.

People that have lived with such phenomena have no doubt that the supernatural exists. Ghosts, Hauntings, Poltergeists, Demonic Possession, does the Supernatural and Preternatural really exist? Ask someone who survived such an ordeal; their story may be enough to convince you.....

"Between the world we see and the things we fear, there are doors. When they are opened, nightmares become reality".

One thing is certain... once you have experienced a haunting first hand, your life will never be quite the same.

The Georgia Ghost Society is dedicated to conducting authentic ghost research, the investigation of phenomena associated with hauntings of paranormal, supernatural or preternatural origins and offering assistance to those experiencing these incredible and sometimes frightening events.

While many of our investigations have encompassed private residences and businesses, we have been very fortunate to include some of Georgiaís haunted, historical landmarks to our list of investigation sites. The Green Manor Restaurant, the Gaithers Plantation, the Kennesaw House, the Pirateís House, the Rylander Theater and Anthonyís Restaurant to name a few and our list continues to grow! We thoroughly understand the importance and value of these locations and work diligently in promoting not only their place in the Georgiaís history, but the history of their haunting as well.

We do not advocate or endorse the use of occult methods such as Quija boards, Tarot cards or SÈances. Instead we choose to use techniques that will aid in the documentation of the phenomena using a variety of electronic and scientific equipment. The types of equipment used are not actually "ghost detectors" but tools that aide in measuring and recording environmental changes which can help to substantiate whether or not the activity experienced is paranormal, supernatural or natural in origin. Once that determination is made, we can aide in locating, obtaining and providing the most appropriate assistance for those involved.
